Koh Samui: Muay Thai and Bangkok
Adam had the pleasure of planning the first week of our trip, while the second week was of my volition. Since this was marking the end of an era (living in Abu Dhabi), I wanted to kick-start the next era with getting into shape…much to Adam’s chagrin, especially compared to our previous week. Haha, poor Adam. Seriously. This was way harder than I expected. But loved it.
Via web research and reviews, I decided on Koh Fit. It is a combination Muay Thai training camp for locals and a fitness camp for travelers, and is wonderful. Of note, I booked this when already in Koh Samui so it was too last minute, but with proper planning, they offer accommodations on-site and I would recommend this more than the resort on the beach that we ended up staying. They also take care of your meals (extremely healthy and delicious), and offer excursions outside of the standard classes (Muay Thai, Yoga, HIIT, Boxing, etc). They are thorough and butt-kicking. So much so that we had to abstain on Day 3 of 7 because we literally could not get out of bed…our muscles hurt so freakin’ much. Adam was so mad at me. I was mad at me. But also excited and happy to be so completely immobilized and miserable.
Fortunately, we were staying at another beachside resort that allowed for gorgeous breakfast views and long walks along the beach.
Our lives for 3-4 sessions each day, for almost all of the days
Daily breakfast table with a nice view
Our walking path from the resort to the fitness camp, to and fro
Beach bar
Of course, Adam made friends with the locals
Wild baby pineapples
My evening stroll partner
And just like that, two weeks came to a close.
We laid over in Bangkok to and fro, enjoying sitting in tiny chairs at little tables while sampling the street food. There is a reason that Thai is one of the most popular cuisines in the world, and there is no better way to enjoy it than fresh from the source.

And with the snap of your fingers, our time came to a close.
Our time living in the Middle East, as well as our time in Thailand.
