Well, it has been a long time coming, but it looks like Adam and I have some plans for the future! This past week I went and got myself a job at the NIH (National Institutes of Health) as their new Pediatric Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist. It was not an easy process, nor is it an easy job, that's for sure. I have been interviewing for this position since early November, and it took four separate days of interviews to get the job. Yeah, it's a HUGE job. It is an honor to get it, as they were looking for someone with at least five years experience, and such, but they think I am going to work best for them...and my orientation is going to be a long time, seriously, I am the youngest person they have ever hired into such a role by about 6 years! This is a huge shout out to those that I worked with in Hawaii for writing me awesome recommendations, it made an impressive difference! THANK YOU.
So what does this mean?!?! It means that we are staying in the US, it means that we are not moving to Abu Dhabi, and it means that we are not going anywhere for a little while. So yes family and friends, you are stuck with us for a while.
This does mean that some changes will be coming though, as Adam thinks that my commute is too long... (and my affinity for collecting red light tickets dictates that I should avoid driving in the city). We will be moving from Baltimore at the end of this lease (July) and be closer to DC, and we will be picking up a second car (Adam is excited about this since I don't want to give up my Jeep, so he gets to pick and it will be all his). Anyone available to help us move in the most ridiculously horrible humidity during one of their glorious summer weekends? I am disappointed about this, as we are both LOVING walking everywhere and the convenience of city living, but everything happens for the best and we are excited for the things to come.
