A Virginia Wedding
The FINAL wedding of 2024. We were fortunate that 3 of our Abu Dhabi friends were getting married this year, so there were SO many occasions to come together and be with many of the people we love the most in the world. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Jason and Sara Benchich!
Our travels had us flying to DC on my birthday, where we spent our first evening with our beloved Greenhalgh crew. What I love about this is that nana “tucks and rolls” Levi off to us after school, while Dave and Debbie were still working, and we get to catch up with this amazing kiddo. And of course their lovingness recognized the day that I don’t care much about, but nothing is better than celebrating a birthday than with a 5 year old! Levi also appreciated that Adam wore the socks that were his gift to Adam last year. Debbie had a work event, so I had a lovely dinner out with all my men at a local steakhouse, Wildfire.
Then, off to wedding festivities! Hilariously enough, we opted to do dinner “just us”, before all of the socialness of the long weekend to come, and accidentally/incidentally crashed the rehersal dinner of our beloved wedding party…opting for the local restaurant with the best reviews, thank you Clyde’s at Willow Creek Farms! Of course our beautiful bride was SO happy about it. Also, the place was GOREGOUS, the drinks tasty, and the food was delicious!
We then ventured over for the actual planned reunion with our crew and other wedding attendess invited by the bride and groom, at Parallel Wine & Whiskey Bar, which was the most perfect of venues.
It’s wedding day! Sara and Jason hosted a wedding at the most picturesque Virginia estate: Raspberry Plain Manor. An afternoon and evening filled with beautiful nuptuals, a wonderful reception of food and all the dancing, and then wrapping up the evening at the hotel with Johan ordering pizza to the hotel for us to continue the festivities.
Sara then organized and hosted a wrap up breakfast brunch for the wedding attendees at Lost Rhino Brewery, to enjoy every last minute with each other. We then left this crew, to then spend some time with our other amazing family/friends Chris and Megan. It was the most perfect of long weekends.
