Mexico: An Anniversary Escape
Thirteen years.
August 26, 2006 Adam and I stood on a beach in Jamaica, flanked by our parents, and pledged our life-long vows to each other. Oh how we have lived out those vows. It seems like we have been married so much longer than this, yet, it has all passed in the blink of an eye and it hasn’t been enough time at all. So much to celebrate. So…to do just that, we escaped to TRS Yucatan for the absolutely most incredible week together!
This place was above and beyond, and exactly what we needed. Fun fact: We didn’t even have to pay for any of it, as it was completely covered by redeeming our credit card points, FOR THE WIN! This is an adults-only all-inclusive resort that only opened a year ago, and I cannot recommend it more highly. Honestly, as travelers that seldom repeat our travels, I am already missing this place and wanting to go back. The food was top of the line and delicious, top brand alcohols to select from, the staff beyond helpful and professional, and so many activities!
We flew into and out of Cancun International Airport, and paid to have the hotel coordinate transportation to/from as the resort is about 90 minutes south. The entire week was a balance between the activities of scuba diving (separate post to come!), snorkeling, salsa lessons, long walks, afternoons at the spa (included!), casual reading, sipping on Campari spritzes, and not setting foot into a pool even once despite the many options. They have SO many restaurant options throughout the resort, that we tried a different one each night and thoroughly enjoyed all of the fresh seafood
