Hello, we are the Mayers.

We are a couple who are passionate about living a meaningful life filled with awesome relationships with real people, exploring new cultures/cities/countries in this huge yet small world, eating incredible food, and experiencing all the things that life has to offer.

The Road to Washington

The Road to Washington

We did not spend much time in Oregon, besides Crater Lake. We continued to thoroughly enjoy our drive up the coast, along Highway 101…stopping frequently to take in the beautiful landscapes. This path takes you through Siuslaw National Forest and Seal Rock State Park. From our pit stops we were able to see MANY whales, seals, and sea lions. While it was an overcast and gray day, it could not detract from the natural wonderful of the seascapes. We enjoyed walking through and exploring colorful tide pools full of life, and breathing in the heavy salty air.

One thing that I didn’t expect about Oregon and Washington state is the sheer number of cannabis dispensaries (as marijuana is legal) and espresso huts. Yes, I know that the Pacific Northwest is obsessed with coffee, but I am talking tiny one-man huts on the side of the road or in parking lots, serving their own special concoctions, that are “drive-thrus” along the way, and they are SO popular here!

We ended up in Port Angeles, WA to be able to enjoy the coast for a few days and explore Olympic National Forest.
