Texas and Rita Blanca National Grasslands
Traversing across the South, we OBVIOUSLY had to pass through Ballinger Texas and see some of my amazing family. We had an absolutely incredible time; catching up and being loved on, enjoying the Ethnic Festival, and filling our bellies with fantastic BBQ and Mexican food. I have minimal evidence though (other than the weight I gained while there), as we were too caught up and focused on family to really to take many pictures…caught the essentials though <3

Next stop on the National tour: Rita Blanca National Grasslands.
There isn’t much to it, a single road through a vast expanse, already on our route, but it was awesome to see the landscape differences. We also camped overnight here, and enjoyed the solitude of there being NOTHING for miles around. And you can only imagine the incredibleness of the sunset followed by stargazing!!!!
Come prepared though. The campsite does have picnic tables, grills, and clean bathrooms, but that is it. No showers. No store. And no where to get supplies or food anywhere near by. We had the place to ourselves the entire time, not even seeing another car the entire time we were there. It was wonderful.
