As mentioned numerous times, Adam has really gotten into beer this year. Not just the consumption of it but the entire process, and will be taking up his own beer brewing operation after he graduates this Spring. When a Groupon was posted to this event, we were ALL over it...that and we didn't even know about it before Groupon came across because we would have already had tickets. We splurged an extra $10 each to upgrade to the VIP package and it was completely worth it. It allowed us to get in an hour before everyone else, provided access to the limited stock brews that were not being offered to everyone else, and it helped avoid the tremendous lines that came once everyone entered. Adam was able to accomplish all of the brewers and beers that he wanted to taste before the gates even opened to the general admission tickets.
I am not a beer drinker; I don't like the taste of it and it is not for lack of trying, much to Adam's chagrin. There are some beers that aren't as bad as others, and some that I can have a drink or two of, but none have I come across that I could sit down and enjoy an entire pint of. So this trip want to provide moral support and extra hands, and it was a really great time! It was the first time this event has been held, and from what I saw, I guarantee this will be an annual event...one that I would recommend. It was very well organized and set up.
