Happy March Everyone!
I am not quite sure how the heck we got to March already, I am not even quite sure what happened to February... Well, yes I do, but I still can't believe it passed SO quickly.
I am busy figuring out my new job and dealing with the commute, and still trying to find the work/life balance. I am finding that difficult to do with getting up at 4am, working 8-9 hours, and dealing with a 2-3 hour commute....still trying to finds a routine.
But alas, hello world!
February was a BIG month for us! I started my new and amazing job, actually spent a day attaining our MD licenses (SO SAD TO GIVE UP OUR PRETTY HAWAII ONES!!!!), we journeyed to New Hampshire to pick up our kitty Maia (as well as the remaining belongings at my parents, due to the fact that we really are not moving to Abu Dhabi and have come to accept that we will be in the area for a while), and to Pennsylvania for a fundraiser sponsoring the Michael O'Brian Band.
We actually drove up to NH and back over a 48 hour period, so it was a quick and exhausting trip (9-10 hours each way), but it was so nice to see my parents and aunts/uncles again, celebrating togetherness over an amazing feast in true Hoisington fashion. Maia settled into the apt. surprisingly quick, and fell back into her old routines in our life as though we were still in Hawaii and she hadn't been living with my parents for the past 10 month...which has been really nice, and we LOVE having her home with us.
And of course the fantastic time that is always had with Adam's family and the Michael O'Brian band...good times and good people.
I hope this finds everyone having a great month! Adam is off to Abu Dhabi for the last two weeks of this month, so there will be no trips for us this month, but we are off to a great start for the rest of the year with a trip a month.
Jan.: New Orleans, LA
Feb.: NH and PA to see family
Mar.: Adam to Abu Dhabi
Apr.: ??? Hawaii for St. Baldrick's ???, Pittsburgh to visit Michael
May.: Punta Cana for a friend's wedding, Texas to visit family
Jun.: California with friends to tour wine country
Jul.:
Aug.: Anniversary trip
Sep.: Birthday month trip
Oct.: New Orleans, LA and Pittsburgh for pediatric conferences (Adam is going with me)
Nov.:
Dec.: NH and PA for the holidays
There will be a prolonged trip to somewhere tropical during one of those empty months because we are SERIOUSLY JONES-ING for some sun, surf, and sand...not being in Hawaii is still REALLY hard, and we are missing our ocean and freediving like crazy. I have determined that I am not a fan of any other footwear besides flip-flops and I don't like pant legs or anything with sleeves. Haha, aloha style allows you to be much lazier and still look perfectly acceptable.
